March 10: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested two notorious drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Officers from Police Station Khansahab at a checkpoint established at Khahipora Khanshab intercepted two persons identified as Mursheed Ahmed Shah son of Ghulam Mohidin Shah and Mohammed Alam Mir son of Ghulam Mohammed Mir both residents of Khanshab. During checking, officers were able to recover 11.5Kgs of Cannabis powder from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.27/2021 under relevant section of law has been registered at Police Station Khansahab and further investigation has been taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
