As per the statement issued here , All Pathwaries have gone to observe an indefinite strike, whish has begin from ist of March 2023.Despite written assurance by the higher ups time to time nothing concrete has been done till date for the fulfillment of their genuine demands . Govt had assured last year that the demands of the fretenity stand legitimate and will be redressed in a month’s time but the charter of demands remained still unfulfilled despite a passage of more than a year.

The association time and again has requested the administration to redress their genuine demands including Grade pay of graduate patwaries which as per the then advertisement notification of 2013 stands as Rs 2800 grade and which unfortunately was later reduced to grade pay of 2400 by virtue of a corrigendum and these patwaries are demanding restoration of that order”, as it is not a case of pay anomaly ,reads a statement here,

The another demand in which the association is seeking to get addressed is Creation of GQ circles and patwar halqas. In year 2014, government created new administrative units Nayabat and Tehsils only. In case of district kupwara, 3 erstwhile Tehsils were bifurcated into 14 Tehsils thus the workload was distributed. However patwar halqas and GQ circles were not created/rationalized at that time being the basic pillar, which is causing a workload to these employees & in most of the cases one GQ is working under Two Tehsildars or a GQ is having more jurisdiction than Tehsildar as such are demanding creation of GQ circles ,the handout further reads,

They also demand of Enhancement of NT quota making at par with UT of ladakh which came into existence of the same day on which UT of JK came into force.

The indefinite strike would continue till the demands are met, the handout further reads,

In the meantime, the association has sought the intervention of the LG led administration to redress their genuine demands.
