Dr Owais visited several panchayats including the Panchayat Halqas of Ajas, Bazipora and Garoora.

He first visited Panchayats of Ajas where he reviewed the arrangements for the B2V4 program. He interacted with the visiting officers and public and visited development work sites along with officers

At Ajas, DC distributed Mother and Child care kits among the beneficiaries and lactating mothers.

He later visited Panchayats of Bazipore and Garoora where he interacted with the visiting officers, PRIs and general public.

Regarding the ongoing B2V4, DC said focus has to be on ensuring that all stakeholders can voice their opinion regarding development activities and implementation of schemes.

He said that the visiting officers have been deployed at 61 Panchayats under the first phase of B2V4 to ensure that they can voice the genuine issues being raised by people in a transparent manner so that effective solutions can be undertaken as well as to review the implementation of welfare measures on the ground and identify gap areas.

He appealed to people to come forward and participate enthusiastically in the program.

Speaking about involvement of youth, the DC said that youth have an important say in the course of development. He said that youth clubs must highlight youth centric issues in the ongoing B2V4 program.

Interacting with the sarpanches and panches, DC said that PRIs must lead from the front to keep their panchayats garbage free, clean and should conduct regular gram sabhas for proper projection of their genuine demands.

He also inspected the Rural Haats set up by the Rural Development Department.

The DC was accompanied by Tehsildar Bandipora, BDO, various officers and officials of the line departments.
