DDC Shopian reviews implementation of Quality Assurance, Kayakalp programme

SHOPIAN, FEBRUARY 02: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse today convened a meeting of Health Department to review implementation of Quality Assurance and Kayakalp programme in the district.

Kayakalp is an initiative taken under the Central Governments flagship programme Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, aimed to improve cleanliness, hygiene and waste management practices at public health facilities.

While speaking on the occasion, DDC said that the governmental set up is the main stay of Health-Care in the district particularly for the poor and those living in rural areas, and cannot afford private facilities.

He stressed upon the health department to ensure quality services at its various public health facilities, including all PHCs.

Suse exhorted upon the health functionaries for improving the clinical practices, documenting the policies, implementation of work place management method, fixing of the faulty machines and damaged parts of the building, patient safety practices and patient satisfaction, garbage dumping etc in order to make the surrounding in and around the hospitals neat, clean and appealing.

He also said that due importance should also be given to vigorous monitoring and continuous encouragement of the proactive facilities and added that most importantly, it is the ownership of the staff working at the facility for implementation and sustainability of quality efforts that gives desired results in the long run.
