May 01: Police in Budgam have seized 03 vehicles for illegal mining and extraction of minerals.
A police party from Police Station Khansahib intercepted and seized 03 vehicles (02 tippers & one JCB) for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals. However the accused drivers managed to escape from the spot leaving behind the vehicles. They have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Ganie son of Mohd Sultan resident of Sholipora Budgam Shahid Ahmad Ganie son of Abdul Ahad resident of Sholipora Budgam Muneer Ahmad Bhat son of Nazir Ahmad Bhat resident of Parisabad.
In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 51/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Khansahib and investigation set into motion.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
