April 28: As a part of public outreach programme and to strengthen Police-public relationship, Police facilitated Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meetings in Budgam & Kulgam. The meetings were held at Police Station Beerwah, Police Post Humhama, Police post Hardpanzoo, Police post Watrihail, Police post Soibugh, Police post Narbal and PS Yaripora.
The meeting at PP Humhama was chaired by DySP Hqrs Budgam Shri Naeem Wani-JKPS alongwith SHO Police Station Budgam. Similarly, at PS Beerwah, PP Hardpanzoo, PP Watrihail, PP Soibugh and PP Narbal the meetings were chaired by respective officers of jurisdictions. The meetings were attended by local imams, Auqaf members and representatives of Intizamia committee members and other respectable citizens of the areas.
In Kulgam, the meeting was held at Police Station Yaripora and was chaired by SHO PS Yaripora Insp Ayaz Geelani in which respectable citizens of Damidullah Yaripora and its adjacent areas participated.
During these meetings, participants raised various issues. The chairing officers assured them that their genuine grievances will be resolved on priority while as the other issues will be taken up with concerned authorities for their early redressal. Besides, other issues related to Jamat-ul-Vida, Shab-e-Qadr & upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr was also discussed. Charing officer requested the participants to report factual information regarding any social/criminal activities to the concerned Police establishments.
The participants in the meeting assured their full cooperation with police in tackling social evils and also appreciated the efforts of police in facilitating community interaction meets where participants express their opinion freely.
