The Mendhar Gunners under the aegis of Ace of Spades Division organized a special medical cum awareness camp at Govt degree college, Mendhar, on 11 Apr 2022 as part of Rajouri Day 2022 celebrations .This year is being celebrated as the “ Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” by the nation. Indian Army maintaining its ethos & traditions is reaching out to people of rural areas near Line of Control ,to provide them medical assistance and consultations.
The Camp was organized with an aim to provide free check ups and specialized medical facilities to the locals. A team of 10 specialist doctors of orthopedics , surgery, pediatrics , gynecology , pathology , psychiatry and medicine came from National Integrated Medical Association, Nashik Maharashtra to conduct this camp.
Over 500 patients turned up from the adjoining areas and availed these facilities. In the medical camp both Army and civilian specialist doctors provided all kinds of basic as well as specialist treatments along with distribution of free medicines.
Dr Parvez Ahmed Khan, BMO, Govt Sub District Hospital Mendhar and his team also provided special assistance in the camp. The event was innagurated by Mrs Anil Akhtar and Mrs Masood Begum the Veer Naris residing in Mendhar. This noble intention and genuine out reach programme by Indian Army towards the locals in this area was greatly appreciated by the local populace .
While speaking to the news agency, Dr Sanjana Barde & Dr Sachin Jadhav said that the camp mainly focused on aged people, women and children.For basic health facilities people from such far flung areas have to travel long distances. But with the help of Indian Army these facilities were provided to them at their home.
A large no of dignitaries including Dr Sahil Jandyal, SDM Mendhar , Principal Govt Degree College , DDC Members , Sarpanches, Panch & local population expressed the gratitude to the Commanding Officer of Mendhar Gunners ,the 10 Specialist Doctors , RMO Mendhar Gunners and rest of the Medical team for their selfless work and this noble gesture.
Commanding Officer, Mendhar Gunners said that Indian Army and Mendhar Gunners are fully committed to serve the local population and will continue to provide humanitarian aid to civilians through such campaigns in future also thus strengthen the bonds of friendship between “JAWAN and AWAAM.”
