ANANTNAG, MARCH 19: Nehru Yuva Kendra Anantnag today organised District Level Neighborhood Youth Parliament at Sheed Ravi Kumar Higher Secondary Khanabal. Speaking on the occasion Deputy director NYK Mir Khalil said that the objective of the said programme is to develop leadership qualities among the youth and to realise and channelize the energy of the youths for the betterment of society as a whole. He further said that department is organising programmes regularly for youths and youths must come to play vital role in implementing the schemes of Government.
Different resource persons from various departments highlighted the scheme and activities pertaining to youths and appealed the youths to come forward to get benefited.
DSWO Anantnag gave a lecture on various schemes of the department and stressed for empowerment of women through various financial and social schemes like BBBP, Registration for golden cards etc. The resource persons from EDI highlighted the various schemes to be availed like tejeswani etc. The principal of the institute and lectures of the said institute also enlightened the various areas where the youths can be utilised for best and desired outcome.
It is to pertinent to mention here that sports kits were distributed among the youth clubs and mahila mandalas to keep them engaged with physical activities to remain fit. The programme was attended by the DDC chairman as chief guest, DSWO, EDI officials, health officials as resource persons, principal GHSS etc besides large number of youths and officials of concerned departments.
