March 19: In order to aware the general public about the ill-effects of drug addiction, Police in Budgam have organised a drug de-addiction seminar at IPTS Heights School Khansahib.

The chief guest on the occasion was SSP Budgam Shri Tahir Saleem-JKPS accompanied by SDPO Khansahib and SHO Police Station Khansahib. The main aim of the seminar was to disseminate awareness regarding drug de-addiction among the students and other people.

On the occasion, SSP Budgam sensitized the students about the ill effects of drug abuse and advised students to be part of social awakening process regarding drug abuse. He highlighted the importance of drug free society and ill effects of this menace on youth & society at large. He advised parents to keep a watch on the activities and behaviour of their children and be conscious towards them. He also advised those affected to avail the facility of drug de-addiction and Rehabilitation Centre DPL Budgam.

Besides, Principal IPTS Heights School Khansahib and other officials also spoke about the ill effects of drugs and its remedies. They highlighted the causes and consequences of drug abuse and assured their possible support and cooperation for a drug-addiction free environment.

Moreover, on the occasion students also spoke about the menace of drugs and its ill effects. They also spoke about preventive measures and hailed the role of J&K Police in the prevention of drug addiction.

At the end of the event, prizes were distributed among the students who bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions as well as to other participants.
