Harvard University has been on a spree to offer free online courses throughout the last year. In its endeavour to provide excellence to the learners, Harvard University has recently rolled out a new free online course in Web Programming with Python and JavaScript. The intermediate-level course will be instructed by David J. Malan, Gordon McKay Professor of the Practice of Computer Science at Harvard University and Brian Yu, Senior Preceptor in Computer Science at Harvard University.
The 12-week course is named “CS50’s Web Programming with Python and JavaScript” and covers the following aspects of web development –
HTML, CSS Git Python Django SQL, Models, and Migrations JavaScript User Interfaces Testing, CI/CD Scalability and Security
What is in it for learners
This course picks up where CS50 leaves off, diving more deeply into the design and implementation of web apps with Python, JavaScript, and SQL using frameworks like Django, React, and Bootstrap. The topics covered in this course include database design, scalability, security, and user experience.
Through hands-on projects, learners dive deep into the web programming activities like how to write and use APIs, create interactive UIs, and leverage cloud services like GitHub and Heroku. Basically, the course provides the students with knowledge and experience in principles, languages, and tools that empower them to design and deploy applications on the Internet.
