Jammu, Dec 21 : The PAGD-an alliance formed by five Jammu and Kashmir-based mainstream political parties, including the NC and the PDP, seeks the restoration of special status of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir that was revoked by the Centre in August 2019 on Tuesday expressed their deep dissatisfaction and shock with regard to recommendations of the commission. The constitutionality of the commission under the Reorganization Act has been challenged in the Supreme Court of India.

The PAGD Spokesperson Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami said that the recommendations are highly disappointing and divisive and will further disempower the people of Kashmir. It is bound to widen the gaps between regions and communities. As such it is unacceptable to the people of the region. PAGD also appealed to the people to remain united and not fall prey to the divisive and disruptive designs of BJP.
