NIT Srinagar signs four MoU’s with three technical institutions of Uzbekistan

MoU’s will bring these institutions closer and will work to enhance the quality of life of a common man: Director NIT

Srinagar, Dec 17: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar Friday signed four Memorandum of Understanding (MoU’s) with three top technical institutions of Republic of Uzbekistan including Tashkent State Transport University (TSTU), Andijan Machine Building Institute (AMBI), and Yeoju Technical Institute in Tashkent (YTIT) to explore collaborative, academic, research activities and understandings.

The MoU’s were signed between Director, NIT Srinagar Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal and Prof. Umida Ziyamukhamedova from Tashkent State Transport University (TSTU), Uzbekistan, Dr. Lutfillo Bakirov from Andijan Machine-Building Institute (AMBI), Uzbekistan, representatives from YTIT – Yeoju Technical Institute in Tashkent Uzbekistan.

PhD. researcher Makhsudova Holiskhon from Andijan Machine-Building Institute (AMBI) was part of the Uzbekistan delegation.

The scope of collaboration on academic and research activities in MoU’s includes promoting and expanding international development by stimulating, supporting education, professional, and intercultural activities, involving projects among students, staff, and faculty members of these institutions and NIT Srinagar.

“Exchange of faculty visits, faculties and students exchange, development and implementation of joint educational and research projects, exchange of academic and other information, etc,” reads the MoU.

On the occasion, Director, NIT Srinagar Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal said these MoU will further strengthen our ties. It is indeed of matter of great pleasure as technological institutions are coming together to sign the historic MoU, he said.

“We will take it forward for the benefit of students, faculty members, and other staff members of both respective intuitions. It will help us to serve humanity through technological dimensions”, he said.

Prof. Sehgal said it is a positive step that these MoU’s will encourage academic partnership and fruitful research collaboration between NIT Srinagar and the prestigious technological institutions of Uzbekistan.

“We are aiming forward for the joint research projects and faculty exchange programs,” he said.

Director NIT Srinagar expressed his gratitude to Professor Umida Ziyamukhamedova, Dr. Lutfillo Bakirov, and other representatives for agreeing to sign this MoU between their institutions.

‘Both intuitions are quite old institutions and I can see we have many common interests from the aims, objectives, and mandate including common programs ranging from UG, PG, Ph.D. degrees,” he said.

Prof.  Sehgal said the signing of this MoU will bring both countries and intuitions closer. The aim and objectives of any technical institution is to enhance the quality of life of a common man,” he said.

On the occasion, Prof. Umida Ziyamukhamedova from Tashkent State Transport University, Uzbekistan said the faculty from both the institutes will also collaborate in the joint submission of research project proposals, supervision of exchange students, and joint research in disciplines of mutual interest.

“I am happy to sign this MoU between the two intuitions and it will boost the mutual coordination between faculty, students, and other staff workers. We are confident that this partnership will help us produce industry-ready graduates who are prepared to contribute towards the fast-growing global society, she said.

On the occasion, Prof. Lutfillo Bakirov from Andijan Machine-Building Institute Uzbekistan also expressed his gratitude to Director NIT Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal for signing two MoU’s with their Institute and stated that it will boost good relations between the twin nations.

Registrar NIT Srinagar, Prof. Kaiser Bukhari said the main objective of the MoU’s is to support reciprocity in university extension activities of common interests.

“It will include the exchange of technology, scientific publications, study programs, academic projects, course information, seminars, conferences, and any other data and information of common interest,” he said.

Prof. Bukhari said it will develop joint research projects and joint publications. Conduct mutual international conferences and workshops and offer dual certificates.

On the occasion, Dean Research & Consultancy Prof. M. F. Wani, coordinate the event and later facilitated the guests with certificates and mementos. He said in the future, NIT Srinagar will also explore more possibilities with these intuitions, he said.

The event was also attended by Dean Faculty Welfare, Prof. Shamim Ahmad Lone, Prof. (Dr.) Sheikh Shahid Saleem, and Assistant Registrar (S&P, Legal) Mr. Mohammad Hazik.
