October 26: In the memory of Police Martyrs and to pay rich tributes, Police in Handwara under the banner of “Police Martyr’s Memorial Festival” organized a ‘Mini-Marathon’ in which students of various schools and local youth participated.
The marathon was categorized into two age groups viz below 18 and above 18. The event was started from GDC Handwara and culminated at Main Market Langate. The event was organized to give boost to the sports activities and channelize youth energy in positive manner and to re-affirm the inherent strength of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity.
On the conclusion of the event, Handwara Police paid rich tributes to the police martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the peace and prosperity of the nation and also thanked the public for their active participation in honoring the Police Martyrs.
The winners and runner up of the competition were appreciated and honoured with prizes/participation certificates among both age groups respectively.
