Advocate Majad Khan, President Bar Association Surankote, addressed a press conference at Surankote and demanded early filling up of the vacant post of SDM Surankote..
Adv Majad Khan said, that the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Surankote, Saleem Ahmed Qureshi(KAS), was also holding the additional charge of Sub-Registrar Surankote and was transferred to Rajouri around three months back in April and since then post of SDM/Sub-Registrar Surankote is lying vacant. The people of entire Sub-Division Surankote, are suffering a lot due to vacant running post of SDM/Sub-Registrar Surankote,especially during this Covid Pandemic.
Many important works of people of Surankote pertaining to SDM are being delayed causing an irreparable loss and unnecessary torture.
He further added that the registration work of documents/legal instruments has been put on hold for months together since this post is running vacant and people of the Sub-Division and particularly lawyers fraternity have to suffer miserably. The state exchequer in the form of stamp duty registration fee is also being diminished owing to the non-registration of legal instruments.
He finally therefore appealed with due reverence to His-Excellency LG. Manoj Sinha to kindly consider our demand on priority a d fill the post of SDM Surankote as soon as possible and end sufferings of general masses.
