Budgam, September 30: The macadamisation work on the Sail–Beerwah Link Road has been completed. The work also covered the portion of the road passing through agricultural land and the Aasatn Alaya providing relief to local residents, farmers and daily commuters who regularly use the route.
Local residents welcomed the completion of the macadamisation work, saying that the improved road surface would make transportation easier and further strengthen connectivity between the surrounding habitations. They said better road connectivity would also facilitate travel for people visiting educational institutions, healthcare facilities, markets and other essential services.
According to residents, the Sail–Beerwah Link Road is an important link road for the area, and its macadamisation is expected to improve the overall travel experience, particularly during adverse weather conditions.
The local residents expressed their appreciation to Beerwah MLA Dr Mohammad Shafi Wani and the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department for initiating and completing the macadamisation work. They said improving road infrastructure in rural and semi-urban areas is important for strengthening public connectivity and supporting the socio-economic activities of local communities.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Abdul Aziz appreciated the efforts of Beerwah MLA Dr Mohammad Shafi Wani and the R&B Department and thanked them for completing the road work.
He said the improved road would benefit the local population, make transportation easier and provide commuters with better access. He also stressed the importance of regular maintenance and upgradation of road infrastructure in accordance with the needs of the growing population.

Local residents said improved road connectivity is particularly important for farmers, who depend on roads for transporting agricultural produce, equipment and other essential materials. They added that a reliable road network also plays an important role in facilitating access to educational institutions, health centres, markets and other public facilities.
The residents urged the concerned authorities to continue strengthening road infrastructure in the area and pay attention to the improvement of other basic civic facilities. They said regular maintenance of roads and timely completion of development projects would provide long-term benefits to the local population.
With the completion of macadamisation on the Sail–Beerwah Link Road, connectivity for people living in the adjoining areas is expected to improve, while daily commuters will have greater convenience. The improved road is also expected to facilitate the movement of people and agricultural produce and support local economic activities.
Residents expressed hope that similar infrastructure development projects would continue in the area to improve public facilities and address the developmental needs of rural communities.
