Sopore, Sept 30 (JkNS): Sopore Police solved a theft case involving a scooty stolen from Guru Hospital, Sopore, arrested the accused and recovered the stolen vehicle.
On 25 September 2026, Police Post Bus Stand Sopore received a written complaint from Shafqat Mushtaq S/O Mushtaq Ahmad R/O Sogam Lolab, Kupwara, stating that his scooty bearing Registration No. JK09D-9681 had been stolen from Guru Hospital, Sopore.
Accordingly, FIR No. 242/2026 under Section 303(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation was taken up.
During the course of investigation, sustained efforts led to the identification and arrest of the accused, namely Amir Ahmad Lone S/O Ghulam Ahmad Lone R/O Warnow Lolab, from Kurhama, Lolab. The stolen scooty was subsequently recovered from his possession.
Further investigation in the case is underway.
