Srinagar, Sept 21 (JKNS): Budgam Police have successfully apprehended a wanted absconder, Reyaz Ahmad Dar, S/o Ghulam Mohammad Dar, R/o Attina, Beerwah, from Hawal, Srinagar, during the late hours of yesterday.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of SSP Budgam Shri Hariparshad, IPS, and SDPO Magam Shri Mohd Ashrif Lissery, with SHO Police Station Beerwah Shri Mudassir Nazar leading the police team.
The accused is involved in multiple cheque-bounce cases and is also an accused in FIR No. 26/2024 U/S 420 IPC of Police Station Magam. He had been figuring in the absconder list of Police Station Beerwah. The Hon’ble Court of CJM Budgam had also issued a warrant against him under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.
Acting on credible information, the police team of PS Beerwah, in coordination with PS Zadibal, Srinagar, launched a coordinated operation and successfully traced and apprehended the accused from Hawal, Srinagar.
The accused is also alleged to have defrauded multiple persons after gaining their confidence through representations relating to gold-related business transactions, following which he reportedly left the business and remained absconding.
The arrest highlights the continued efforts of Budgam Police to trace absconders and ensure execution of warrants issued by competent courts. Further legal proceedings are being initiated against the accused as per law. (JKNS)
