Sopore, Sept 19 (JKNS): A serious discrepancy has come to light in an online book order delivered in Sopore, where a customer who ordered a JKPSC/JKSSB competitive examination preparation book through Amazon received a book whose *cover page matched the product listing, but whose inside pages contained completely unrelated material on “Financial Astrology.”*
The customer said the book appeared genuine at first glance as its cover was exactly the same as the one displayed on the Amazon listing. However, upon opening the book, the contents were found to be entirely different from the advertised JKPSC/JKSSB study material.
The incident has raised concerns over the authenticity and quality control of books being sold online, particularly those purchased by students preparing for competitive government examinations.
Such discrepancies can result in financial loss, waste valuable preparation time and seriously inconvenience students and aspirants who depend on online platforms for study material.
The customer has urged Amazon and the concerned seller to investigate the matter, verify the source and quality of the product, and take appropriate action to ensure that similar incidents do not affect other students.
Students and buyers are also advised to check the contents of books immediately after delivery and report any mismatch between the product advertised and the material actually received.
