SHOPIAN, JUNE 26: To observe 26th June as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, a rally was held at Shopian today headed by Imtiyaz Ahmed Shalla, Drugs Control Officer Shopian as an expression of determination to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of society free of drug abuse.
The rally passed through the main market Shopian in which Chemists and distributors of Shopian district and Civil Society members participated in large numbers.
The theme for this year’s International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is “Better Knowledge for Better Care”.
Speaking on the occasion, Imtiyaz Ahmed emphasized that the need of the hour is to improve the understanding of the drug problem and how in turn, better knowledge with greater cooperation can help counter its impact on health, governance and security.
To save the future generation and to get rid of this menace, he stressed upon the youth, not to involve yourself in this menace but adopt the right path and thus save your precious lives.
