Srinagar, Aug 26 (JKNS): Five suspected terror associates were arrested and a cache of arms and ammunition recovered during a joint cordon and search operation in the Bugam Orchard area of Kulgam district on Wednesday, officials said.
A senior J&K police officer told news agency JKNS that during the anti terror operation, five terror associates were arrested, the operation was jointly conducted by Kulgam Police, 9 Rashtriya Rifles and 18 Battalion CRPF.
During the operation, security forces recovered four 9mm pistols, four magazines, 22 rounds of ammunition and two hand grenades, officials said.
The five arrested persons have been taken into custody, while further investigation is underway to ascertain their activities and establish their possible linkages. (JKNS)
