Anantnag, July 22 (JKNS): Top brass of security forces led by Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat Wednesday rushed to the site of the terror attack at Lal Chowk in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, where a police head constable was martyred during an encounter with terrorists.
Details available with news agency JKNS that DGP Nalin Prabhat, accompanied by Special DGP Coordination S.J.M. Gillani, IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi and SSP Anantnag Amod Ashok, and other officers reached the terror incident site to review the ground situation and supervise the ongoing anti-terror operation.
The senior officers were briefed by field commanders about the sequence of events, deployment of security forces and the progress of the operation.
The visit comes hours after Head Constable Aashiq Hussain Qureshi was martyred after sustaining injuries during the exchange of fire with terrorists.
Security forces have cordoned off the area, and the operation against the terrorists is continuing. (JKNS)
