Says circulation of visuals may hamper investigation, compromise public security; warns of strict legal action against violators

Srinagar, July 22 (JKNS): Cyber Police Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday cautioned media organisations and the general public against sharing or circulating photographs and videos related to the recent terror incident in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, warning that violators will face strict legal action.

In a public advisory, as per news agency JKNS, Cyber Police J&K said it has observed that certain media organisations and members of the public are circulating visuals connected to the terror incident.

The advisory urged everyone to refrain from sharing, publishing, forwarding or circulating such photographs and videos on any platform.

Cyber Police stated that dissemination of such material may hamper the ongoing investigation, compromise public security and interfere with law enforcement efforts.

It further warned that strict legal action will be initiated against anyone found violating the advisory under the relevant provisions of law. (JKNS)
