Srinagar, July 22 (JKNS): An Army soldier died after slipping while on duty at a forward post in the Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
Official sources told news agency JKNS that the soldier, serving with the 19 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles, was deployed at a forward location when he reportedly slipped and sustained fatal injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Rifleman Sukhpreet Singh, a resident of Punjab.
Official sources said cognizance of the incident has been taken and further proceedings have been initiated. (JKNS)
