“The Sammelan marks a spiritual rebirth for the region. It sends a powerful message of harmony and national unity from Baramulla across Jammu Kashmir and the entire country,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

He said Baramulla has historically remained a gateway of culture, a confluence of ideas and a major centre of spiritual knowledge, adding that the Mahayajna Dharma Sammelan is reviving the district’s glorious heritage.

“On this land, where all faiths are respected, the Mahayajna is breathing new life into our spiritual legacy, which has given Jammu Kashmir a distinctive and unique identity in the world,” he said.

Later, while speaking to reporters, the Lieutenant Governor said the administration is closely monitoring the flood situation in Poonch and Rajouri, where flash floods and landslides have caused loss of life and extensive damage.

He said rescue and relief operations are being carried out on a war footing by the SDRF, Police and other agencies working in close coordination.

“We are closely monitoring the situation in Poonch and Rajouri. The Amarnath Yatra has been temporarily suspended. Sadly, some people have lost their lives. The SDRF, Police and other agencies are working jointly. The exact number of casualties will be shared after official confirmation,” Sinha said.

He added that the administration is in constant touch with officials on the ground and all concerned departments have been directed to expedite rescue and relief measures while extending every possible assistance to the affected people.

The Lieutenant Governor also said that the 100-day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir campaign will conclude on Monday.

“During these 100 days, volunteers reached people across villages and towns, met affected families, supported them and worked with complete dedication to heal society,” he said. (JKNS)
