Baramulla, July 17 (JKNS): A 55-year-old man was killed after a poplar tree fell on him in the Mamusa area of Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.
An official told news agency JKNS, the deceased has been identified as Bashir Ahmad Ganie, son of Mohammad Sadiq Ganie, a resident of Mamusa.
Bashir Ahmad sustained critical injuries after being struck by the falling tree. He was immediately rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC), Pattan, where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated legal proceedings. (JKNS)
