Among those present were PDP Media In-charge Bashir Ahmad Beigh, senior leaders Basharat Naseem and Molvi Nisar, PDP Women’s Wing President Tabassum Bano, along with a large number of party workers and local leaders.

Addressing the gathering, Manzoor Ahmad Wani criticised the ruling National Conference (NC), alleging that the Khansahib Assembly Constituency, particularly Khag, has witnessed developmental stagnation under the present government. He claimed that the area continues to suffer from inadequate healthcare facilities and several unresolved public issues, while the local MLA has failed to meet the expectations of the people.

He said the PDP has always remained committed to highlighting public grievances and serving the people. Wani urged party workers to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level, maintain close contact with the public, and ensure maximum participation in the Foundation Day programme in Srinagar. He also stressed the importance of unity, discipline, public outreach, and effective grassroots mobilisation.

PDP Media In-charge Bashir Ahmad Beigh highlighted the significance of the party’s Foundation Day and appealed to workers to participate in large numbers. He also rejected remarks made by National Conference leader Majid Larmi, who had alleged that PDP President Mehbooba Mufti was included in an Indian delegation to Iran on the recommendation of the Centre. Beigh described Mufti as an internationally recognised political leader and alleged that such statements were politically motivated.

Senior leader Molvi Nisar alleged that no significant development had taken place in the Khansahib constituency under the present MLA and urged the government to focus on addressing public issues instead of engaging in political rhetoric.

Senior PDP leader Basharat Naseem alleged that the policies of the National Conference had harmed the future of Kashmir and called upon party workers to remain united and further strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level by taking the party’s message to every household.

PDP Women’s Wing President Tabassum Bano criticised the government over issues related to women’s welfare, safety, and empowerment. She questioned the implementation of promises made to women and appealed to them to play an active role in strengthening the PDP and raising public issues.

During the meeting, several workers from the National Conference and other political parties joined the PDP. The party leadership welcomed the new entrants and expressed hope that their induction would further strengthen the organisation. Speakers claimed that the growing support for the PDP reflected increasing public confidence in the party’s leadership and policies.

The meeting concluded with workers reaffirming their commitment to making the Foundation Day celebrations in Srinagar a success and intensifying the party’s public outreach campaign across the Khansahib Assembly Constituency while continuing efforts to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level.
