Ganderbal, July 3 (JKNS): A 40-year-old Amarnath Yatra pilgrim from Punjab was found dead at a hotel in Sonamarg area of Ganderbal district on Friday, sources said.

Official sources told news agency JKNS, The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old, Narinder Kumar, son of Parminder Kumar, a resident of Barnala, Punjab. He was staying at a hotel in Sonamarg when he was found unconscious.

Sources said the body was shifted to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Sonamarg for medico-legal formalities.

Police have initiated inquest proceedings under relevant Sections of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) to ascertain the cause of death. Further investigation is underway. (JKNS)
