Kishtwar, Jun 14 (JKNS): MLA Kishtwar Shagun Parihar called on Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Shivraj Singh Chouhan in New Delhi and sought his urgent intervention for the early execution of several road projects sanctioned under PMGSY-IV, Batch-II (2025-26) in Kishtwar district.

During the meeting, Shagun Parihar apprised the Union Minister about the delay in the commencement of work on a number of approved PMGSY roads in Kishtwar despite their sanction.

She highlighted that the affected areas are remote, underdeveloped and strategically important where road connectivity remains crucial for socio-economic development, public welfare and administrative outreach.

MLA Kishtwar specifically raised the issue of pending execution of roads including Chatter Bridge to Ohli via Batkoot, Chatter Bridge to Potinag Khai Lorass, Bhatkoot to Haddar, Kandni Ohli Road to Prishmulla, Chamoti Road to Naki and Shanna to Aryagaam, besides several other approved projects awaiting implementation.

Shagun Parihar emphasized that improved road connectivity would greatly benefit residents by ensuring better access to healthcare, education, government services & emergency facilities.

She further stated that timely completion of these roads would facilitate development activities and improve the overall quality of life in far-flung areas of the district.

Responding positively, Shivraj Singh Chouhan assured the MLA that the matter would be examined on priority and that necessary directions would be issued to the concerned authorities for expediting the implementation process.

He reiterated the Government of India’s commitment to strengthening rural infrastructure and ensuring inclusive and equitable development in remote regions.

Expressing gratitude for the Union Minister’s patient hearing and positive response, Shagun Parihar said that the early execution of these roads would not only improve connectivity but also create new opportunities for economic growth, employment generation and tourism in Kishtwar district.

She reaffirmed her commitment to pursuing key infrastructure projects and ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach every corner of the constituency, particularly the remote and underserved areas. (JKNS)
