AIKS thanks Delhi CM on assistance to Kashmiri Migrants.

Srinagar, Jun 2 (JKNS): India Kashmiri Samaj Regd (AIKS) has thanked Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for granting a one-time amnesty to Kashmiri migrants and removing income & property related anomalies for grant of cash assistance, which has been stopped for nearly 2 years now.

The decision will benefit 1832 such families registered with the Delhi government in Delhi.

The government has removed the income related eligibility condition for relief that was imposed by the previous Kejriwal government. In a Press release AIKS president Ravinder Pandita has further demanded that the AMR be increased that was last revised a decade ago.

A delegation of Kashmiri Pandits including AIKS president Ravinder Pandita had met Delhi CM Rekha Gupta and Delhi Home Minister Ashish Sood in July last year and represented the community on these issues. Provision in the new budget has been made to allow cash assistance with arrears, it is learnt. (JKNS)
