The event was conducted in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and Municipal Council Sopore, aiming to generate mass awareness against drug abuse and mobilize community participation in building a safe and healthy society.

Senior officials, including SDPO Sopore Mohd Rafi(KPS), CEO Municipal Council Sopore Wali Mohd Wani, Tehsildar Sopore Sheikh Tariq (KAS), SHO Sopore Ayaz Geelani, and other officers, actively participated in the rally, reflecting a unified administrative effort against substance abuse.

Addressing the participants, ADC Sopore stressed that combating drug addiction requires coordinated action from government bodies, educational institutions, families, and society at large. He underscored that youth awareness remains a critical pillar in eliminating the menace of drugs.

Carrying banners and placards, participants raised slogans promoting a drug-free nation. The traditional tanga rally once again captured public attention, proving to be an effective medium for outreach and awareness.

Appreciating the continued support of all stakeholders, ADC Sopore reiterated the administration’s resolve to sustain and expand such initiatives across the sub-district.

The rally culminated at Fruit Mandi Sopore, where participants pledged to strengthen the fight against drug abuse and work collectively towards a healthier and brighter future. (JKNS)
