Crackdown on Illegal Drug Trade: Sopore Police Seal Unlicensed Medical Store Under Nasha Mukt Drive

Srinagar, Apr 27 (JKNS): Intensifying its drive against illegal drug distribution, Sopore Police on Monday sealed an unlicensed medical store in Amargarh during a joint enforcement action under the ongoing 100-day Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, officials said.

In a statement issued here to news agency JKNS, In a firm enforcement action under the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Sopore Police, in coordination with Drug Control authorities, sealed an unlicensed medical store at Amargarh, Sopore.

During a checking drive, the chemist shop was found operating without a valid drug licence in violation of the Drugs & Cosmetics Act.

Acting promptly, the Drug Inspector sealed the premises on the spot and legal proceedings have been initiated against the proprietor under relevant provisions of law.

Sopore Police reiterated that no unlicensed medical store will be allowed to operate and strict action will be taken against any illegal sale of medicines or psychotropic substances.

The public is advised to purchase medicines only from authorised and licensed chemists.

Sopore Police reaffirmed their commitment to strict enforcement under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan to prevent misuse of drugs and ensure a safer, healthier society. (JKNS)
