Srinagar, Apr 23 (JKNS): Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader and Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma on Thursday questioned recent claims regarding an alleged firing attempt on National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, asking whether any information had been shared with the police and calling for a thorough investigation into the matter.

Speaking to reporters, Sharma as per news agency JKNS said, “Did Farooq Abdullah give any information to the police? No. So, did he have a dream? This needs a proper investigation.” He added that there was no apparent criminal background or terror angle, but the issue still required a detailed probe.

Taking a dig at the Abdullah family, Sharma claimed there was no security threat to them, stating that they already enjoy extensive security cover. He also criticised what he described as “drama and exaggeration” surrounding security arrangements.

On the issue of statehood, Sharma said it would be restored at an appropriate time and should not be linked to any individual. He also targeted Omar Abdullah, questioning governance and raising issues related to electricity, jobs, and public welfare.

The BJP leader further alleged that the current administration had failed to address ground-level problems, claiming there was a lack of governance, rising corruption, and minimal public outreach, while basic issues such as water, power, and infrastructure remained unresolved. (JKNS)
