Drug Peddler Held in Awantipora Checkpoint Operation; Contraband Seized

Awantipora, Apr 17 (JKNS): Continuing its intensified crackdown under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Awantipora Police apprehended a drug peddler during naka checking at Khar Mohd area and recovered a quantity of contraband substance from his possession.

The naka checking was conducted under the supervision of SHO Police Station Awantipora Inspector Ajaz Hmad.

The accused has been identified as Bilal Ahmad Rah, S/o Abdullah Rah, R/o KP Road, Khanabal, Anantnag.

During the search, approximately 55 grams of charas powder-like substance and 16 grams of charas were recovered from his possession.

In this regard, Case FIR No. 91/2026 under relevant sections of law NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Awantipora, and investigation has been set into motion.

Awantipora Police remains committed to eradicating the menace of drugs from society. General public is requested to cooperate with police and share any information related to drug peddling. (JKNS)
