Srinagar, Apr 17 (JKNS): The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Friday forecast a spell of cloudy weather with intermittent rain and gusty winds across Jammu and Kashmir over the next few days.

Director MeT Srinagar, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad, as per news agency JKNS, said that from April 17 to 19, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy with one or two spells of light rain or thundershower at many to most places, especially during morning and evening or late evening hours.

He said there is also a possibility of gusty winds with speeds reaching 40-50 kmph and hailstorms at a few locations during this period.

From April 20 to 24, the weather is likely to remain generally dry across the region, providing a brief respite after the ongoing wet spell.

However, he added that from April 25 to 26, the weather is expected to remain generally dry with a brief spell of light rain or thundershower accompanied by gusty winds at a few places during afternoon hours.

In an advisory, farmers have been urged to suspend farm operations from April 17 to 19 in view of the expected weather conditions. (JKNS)
