New Delhi, Mar 9 (JKNS): The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check Unit has dismissed as false and baseless claims circulating on social media that India shared the location of the Iranian naval ship IRIS Dena with Israel, stating that the video making the allegation is digitally manipulated and AI-generated.

PIB Fact Check as per news agency JKNS, officials said that malicious accounts linked to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) ecosystem circulated the altered video by using footage from the Chief of the Army Staff’s speech at the Raisina Dialogue, which was manipulated to create a misleading narrative.

The PIB clarified that the claim suggesting India shared the vessel’s location with Israel is completely false and part of a coordinated disinformation campaign aimed at misleading audiences and targeting India’s credibility.

It further stated that the use of AI-generated content to misrepresent official speeches reflects a deliberate attempt by malicious actors to distort facts and influence public perception.

The PIB also noted that recent IT Rules mandate clear labelling of AI-generated content, and digital platforms are expected to comply with these guidelines to prevent the spread of manipulated media.

The public and media have been advised to verify information through credible and official sources before sharing such content, the PIB said. (JKNS)
