Anantnag Police Seize 3 JCBs, 4 Tractors Involved in Illegal Mining

Anantnag, Mar 8 (JKNS): Anantnag police on Sunday seize three JCB’s and four tractors involved in illegal mining.

Spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, Acting on reliable information regarding illegal mining activities in Sandren Nala, a police team from Police Post Janglatmandi conducted a raid near the Shivpora area.

During the operation, the police party found that illegal extraction of minerals was being carried out during night hours with the help of heavy machinery. Acting promptly, the team seized 03 JCB machines and 04 tractors involved in the illegal mining activity on the spot.

 

In this regard, Case FIR No. 59/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation has been taken up.

District Police Anantnag reiterates its commitment to take strict action against illegal mining and other unlawful activities that harm the environment and public resources. (JKNS)
