SIA Conducts Search in Pulwama in 2023 Minority Killing Case

Pulwama, Feb 24 (JKNS): The State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Tuesday carried out a search operation in Shirmal area of Zainapora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district in connection with a 2023 UAPA case related to the killing of Sanjay Sharma.

Official sources told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, that the raid was conducted at the residence of slain terrorist Jazim Farooq Wani in connection with FIR No. 14/2023 registered at Police Station Litter, Pulwama. The case involves offences under Sections 302 and 120-B of the IPC, Sections 7/27 of the Arms Act, and Sections 16, 20, 23 and 38 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

The search operation was part of the ongoing investigation into the minority killing case. During the raid, the investigating team examined certain documents and materials believed to be relevant to the probe.

Officials said the action was taken to further strengthen the investigation and identify any additional links in the case. No arrests were reported during the operation, and further investigation is in progress. (JKNS)
