13 Bn SSB, NGO Organise Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Awareness Programme in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, Dec 31 (JKNS): Under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan with the theme “Khidmat”, 13 Battalion SSB, Dignibal, in collaboration with Saving the Future NGO, Ganderbal, organised an awareness programme at New Dreamland Educational Institute, Beehama, Ganderbal on Thursday, aimed at sensitising people about the ill effects of drug abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free society.

As per details available with news agency JKNS, the programme witnessed active participation from students, social workers, educationists, legal experts and members of civil society. The event featured informative sessions, awareness talks and cultural activities focused on discouraging substance abuse.

The programme began with an address by Advocate Malik Shagufta, followed by Ms Shaheena Ali, who highlighted the social consequences of drug abuse and stressed the need for awareness among youth. A cultural programme was also presented, conveying strong social messages against drug addiction.

Advocate Junaid Syed, Chairman of Saving the Future NGO, Advocate Barkat Kour Rattan and Ms Sahir Saleem, Rehabilitation Psychologist, also addressed the gathering, sharing insights on legal awareness, psychological rehabilitation and the role of society in supporting individuals affected by drug addiction. A Nukkad Natak (street play) performed by students effectively delivered the message of “Say No to Drugs.”

The programme was graced by Shri Bashir Ahmad Shah, Chairman, New Dreamland School, Ganderbal, as the guest of honour, followed by an address from Shri Altaf Ahmad, Former Chairman, Ganderbal Municipal Corporation.

Shri Dhiraj Pathania, Second-in-Command and Officiating Commandant, 13 Bn SSB, Dignibal, the Chief Guest of the event, appreciated the collective efforts of all stakeholders in successfully organising the programme.

The event concluded with an appeal to the youth and the general public to actively support the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and uphold the spirit of “Khidmat” (service) to build a healthy, safe and drug-free nation. (JKNS)
