Srinagar, Dec 11 (JKNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said that the Jammu & Kashmir administration is committed to ensuring government jobs and justice for the families of civilians killed in terror-related incidents over the years.

Speaking to reporters, LG Sinha, as per news agency JKNS, said, “During the period of terrorism, a large number of citizens in Jammu & Kashmir lost their lives to militant violence. We launched a campaign on July 13 to provide government jobs to the Next of Kin (NoK) of these terror-victim families.”

He added, “Earlier also, appointment letters were issued. A total of 41 individuals, whose family members were killed by terrorists, have been given government jobs. Some more have also been employed in the Police Department. It is a fact that a large number of people lost their lives and their properties were damaged.”

LG Sinha further said that in several cases, FIRs were not registered in the past, and the administration is now working to address those pending matters.

“In many cases, FIRs were never filed. The administration is working sensitively to resolve these cases. If any genuine case is still pending, the process to provide jobs as per rules is underway, and they will also be given jobs in the coming days.”

He assured that cases where FIRs were never filed will now be officially registered.

“Wherever an FIR was not registered earlier, a fresh FIR will now be lodged so that investigation can be carried out and the culprits can be brought to justice.” (JKNS)
