The community has been waiting for a tapped water supply for the past 20 years, with no resolution in sight.

The residents appealed to the authorities to provide water tanker supply until the pipeline is completed, ensuring the community’s basic needs are met.

Jal Shakti Department officials have acknowledged the issue and are currently supplying water tankers to around 10 mohallas in the area.

“We urge the department to provide immediate relief to Raj Mohallah and expedite the completion of the water pipeline scheme,” a resident told news agency JKNS.

The protest highlights the community’s frustration and desperation for a reliable water supply. MLA Sopore, Irshad Rasool Kar, assured that the issue would be addressed soon.

Meanwhile, a Jal Shakti Department official, while acknowledging the issue, said they are temporarily providing water tankers to mitigate the crisis. “We expect the crisis to end by the end of this year,” the official added. (JKNS)
