Leh District Administration Prohibits Spread of Fake News, Rumours on Social Media

Leh, Oct 9 (JKNS): The District Magistrate of Leh, Romil Singh Donk, has issued a strict order banning the circulation of fake news, rumours, and misinformation on social media platforms in the district.

As per the order issued by the District Administration as pee news agency JKNS, under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, all social media users are directed not to share, forward, or post unverified content. Administrators of WhatsApp, Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, Telegram, and YouTube groups have been instructed to monitor content, remove misleading posts, and enable “Admin Only” controls where needed.
