Srinagar, Oct 8 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir has achieved a major milestone in digital healthcare by crossing 1.05 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHAs) under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), officials said on Wednesday.

Officials told news agency JKNS that the total number of ABHA IDs in the UT has touched 1,05,04,499, showing a rapid rise in the adoption of digital health infrastructure. “J&K is not only moving ahead in health services and digital payments but is also becoming a leader in digital healthcare,” said an official associated with ABDM. The mission, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September 2021, was rolled out in J&K in July 2022 and has since made remarkable progress.

Officials said under the guidance of Secretary Health and Medical Education, Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, and ABDM Mission Director, Anant Dwivedi, Jammu and Kashmir has achieved 100% registration of public hospitals, health professionals, and private health facilities. The UT ranks among the top four in the country under the “Scan & Share” service with over 82 lakh OPD scans and shares, and has also recorded 90 lakh linked Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), allowing citizens to access their complete health data digitally.

Officials added that J&K’s digital health transformation recently earned it the Arogya Manthan Award in Delhi for its outstanding implementation of ABDM. They said the mission has made healthcare delivery paperless and transparent, enabling quicker treatment, faster claims, and improved patient follow-up across the Union Territory. (JKNS)
