SRINAGAR: The Department of Forensic Medicine Government Medical College Srinagar today hosted the Annual Forensic Quiz 2025, a vibrant academic event that brought together students, postgraduates, and senior residents for a showcase of knowledge debate and real world problem solving.
The program featured three thrilling segments, a clinically integrated forensic quiz, a debate on Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, and a Moot Court presentation on medico-legal cases, each designed to test critical thinking analytical skills and practical application of knowledge.
The event was inaugurated by Prof (Dr.) Iffat Hassan Principal/Dean GMC Srinagar who encouraged students to actively participate in such platforms to boost confidence and professional growth.
Prof (Dr.) Arsalan F Rashid, Head of Forensic Medicine emphasized the event’s alignment with National Medical Commission guidelines and its role in advancing competency based medical education.
The debate chaired by Prof. Dr. Sabiya Majeed Head of the Biochemistry department saw students engaging in lively discussions on the benefits and ethical challenges of AI in medicine.
Deputy Secretary, DALSA Srinagar, Tasneem Kouser, delivered an inspiring message, urging participants to stay informed about legal frameworks and uphold justice and fairness in medical practice.
The Annual Forensic Quiz 2025 emerged as a dynamic platform for learning debate and innovation, embodying the vision of Competency Based Medical Education and inspiring students to think critically, question deeply and strive for excellence.
Postgraduate students and senior residents enriched the discussions with their advanced insights, bridging classroom learning with clinical experience.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Uzma Buchh and was attended by Administrator, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak and Deputy Registrar Academics along with Heads of Departments, senior faculty and UG Students.
