Srinagar, Sept 18 (JKNS): Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Thursday issued a categorical assurance that all examinations in Jammu and Kashmir will go ahead strictly as per schedule, declaring that no challenge natural or man-made would be allowed to derail the academic calendar.

Speaking to reporters as per news agency JKNS Minister Itoo said students had already endured immense disruption this year due to a war-like situation, severe heatwave, and recent floods, yet the government was determined to keep examinations on time. “Schools in both regions have suffered damage, but I want to make it absolutely clear exams will be conducted without any delay,” she said.

Itoo added that the department had opened consultations with stakeholders to chalk out a plan for compensating the academic loss. She reminded that after reversing the session last year, the calendar had now been stabilised. “We are not going back. The system is on track,” she noted.

Taking on National Conference MP Aga Ruhullah Mehdi, Itoo said his criticism of the government was misplaced. “He was elected on the NC ticket to represent people in Parliament. Instead of pointing fingers at us here, he should use that platform to speak about J&K’s real issues,” she said. (JKNS)
