Seva Parv Rally Held in Sopore, MLA Irshad Kar and ULB Director Join Citizens

Srinagar, Sep 18 (JKNS): As part of the ongoing Seva Parv celebrations, Sopore Municipal Council (MC) organized a rally from the Additional Deputy Commissioner’s (ADC) office to Columnates Ghanta Ghar Sopore.

The event as per news agency JKNS was organised on Wednesday aimed at promoting civic responsibility and wider community participation.

The rally was flagged off by ADC Sopore S.A. Raina in presence of CEO MC Sopore Wali Mohammad Wani, Senior Assistant Hakeem Nisar Ahmad, Senior Assistant Fayaz Ahmad Pandith, Secretary Ab Hameed Peer, elected members of the MC Sopore, besides students from several schools including Boys Higher Secondary School Sopore.

Local MLA Irshad Rasool Kar also joined the programme, voicing his support for initiatives that encourage citizen involvement and create greater awareness about civic duties.

Meanwhile, Director Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Kashmir, Qazi Sarwar, visited Sopore to review the ongoing activities under Seva Parv 2025. He inspected the initiatives and also participated in the rally.

Speaking to media persons, Director ULB as per JKNS said his visit was aimed at monitoring the implementation of the national programme, which began on September 15 and will continue till October 2. “I came here to see how the programmes initiated under Seva Parv are being carried out.”

He said that, “A hydraulic-based stair system has been set up for electric repair works, and sanitation facilities have been improved.”

“A project worth Rs 32 lakh has been created for public benefit, which will prove highly useful for the people,” he said. (JKNS)
