New Delhi: Delhi Police is all set to conduct the potency test of television actor Ashish Kapoor, who was held in connection with an alleged gangrape case, sources said today.
The police will also record the statement of Air India’s senior captain, who is a co-accused in the matter, along with his wife.
For the potency test, Kapoor will reportedly be taken to AIIIMS. After getting a potency report, the police will use it as evidence against him.
The Delhi Police have obtained four days of custodial remand to grill Kapoor. Police said that he will be taken to Pune for the recovery of the evidence. The police will also explore the role of the co-accused.
Delhi Police said they need to recover the cell phone of the victim, which was snatched by Kapoor and his aide.
“We need to recover the cell phone of Kapoor as well. The victim has said there are possibilities he might have recorded the entire gangrape,” said a source.
The source said the crime allegedly took place at the birthday party of Kapil Gupta, who reportedly works with Air India, on August 10 night. His wife Ritu Gupta hosted the party.
The victim alleged she was offered drinks and then taken to the bathroom, where she was allegedly gangraped by the four persons. She was also allegedly filmed.
According to sources, it was Ritu who called the police that the victim was fighting with them. The victim was then taken to Aruna Asif Ali Hospital on August 11 morning. At the hospital, the victim said that she was gangraped.
The police then lodged an FIR of gangrape under sections 61(1), 115(2)/3(5)/70(1) of the BNS. Later, she said that she was only raped by Kapoor.
Ritu Gupta and her husband Kapil Gupta were given anticipatory bail by the accused. The court had also reserved the order on the anticipatory bail plea of Ashish Kapoor, but in the meantime, he was arrested by the police.
According to the police, the victim met Kapoor on Instagram.
The official said that the initial FIR included the names of Kapoor, his friend, the friend’s wife, and two unknown individuals. Later, the victim changed her statement, saying that only Kapoor raped her. UNI A
