Srinagar, Aug 30 (JKNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday felicitated the Awardees of the International Buddha Peace Awards and Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Awards-2025 at an event organised by Buddhanjali Research Foundation in Srinagar.

The function was also attended by Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale.

Speaking during the function of Gathering in Srinagar, LG Sinha as per news agency JKNS extended his heartiest congratulations to all the award winners and praised their significant contributions to society.

“The contribution of each one of the Awardees is an inspiration for all. They are embodiment of courage, harmony, peace, selfless service, nationalism, and they represent the idea of India,” LG said.

Calling upon the youth to re-affirm their commitment to the ideals of Mahatma Buddha and Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, LG Sinha said, “The youth must dedicate themselves to nation-building while serving humanity with devotion and spreading the values of peace and harmony.”

He further said, “The greatest art of living is one that includes the welfare of others. We have to give the message to the society that social values, such as selfless service, can only be preserved by adhering to the path of morality. It is also our collective responsibility to inspire the society to be proud of its rich cultural heritage.”

Sinha said, “Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, an aspiring India is moving towards becoming a Viksit Bharat.

Along with self-reliance, a new self-confidence has also been awakened in our country and we remain focused on our goal of a developed India. India is the hope for the world and it can show humanity the path to a prosperous and happy future.”

On the occasion, LG Sinha also paid homage to those who lost their lives in the recent natural calamities across Jammu and Kashmir. “We are in tough condition today, as J&K has seen disasters, and many people have been killed and wounded. I would like to assure all the people that J&K administration is with them and steps will be taken in the next few days,” he said.

Congratulating the recipients of the honours, the LG remarked, “This is our commitment that in the Prime Minister’s tenure, historic changes have taken place. We assure our youth and women to move forward and be part of this change.”

Referring to Babasaheb Ambedkar’s thoughts, the LG said, “As he said, man is mortal, and so are thoughts, but new thinking has been ensured in the last few years under the PM’s leadership.”

LG manoj Sinha along with the Union Minister, felicitated several individuals with the prestigious awards, including journalists, social activists, members of the civil administration, and Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Basharat Qayoom among others. (JKNS)
