PM Modi to Unveil Development Projects Worth Over ₹18,000 Crore in Bihar and West Bengal

NEW DELHI — Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bihar and West Bengal on August 22 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects valued at over ₹18,200 crore. The projects aim to boost infrastructure, connectivity, and public services in both states.

Projects in Bihar (Gaya), PM Modi will inaugurate projects worth approximately ₹13,000 crore. Key initiatives include:

Roads and Connectivity: The inauguration of the Aunta–Simaria six-lane bridge over the River Ganga, which will reduce travel distance for heavy vehicles by over 100 km.

Power: The Buxar Thermal Power Plant (660 MW) will be dedicated to the nation to enhance the state’s energy supply.

Healthcare: The Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre in Muzaffarpur will be inaugurated to provide advanced and affordable cancer care.

Railways: The Prime Minister will flag off two new trains: the Amrit Bharat Express between Gaya and Delhi, and the Buddhist Circuit Train between Vaishali and Koderma.

Projects in West Bengal (Kolkata), PM Modi will inaugurate projects worth over ₹5,200 crore, with a focus on urban and metro connectivity. Highlights include:

Metro Services: The inauguration of three new metro sections spanning 13.61 km, including the Noapara–Jai Hind Bimanbandar line, which will provide the city’s first metro link to the airport.

Road Infrastructure: The foundation stone will be laid for the six-lane elevated Kona Expressway, a project valued at over ₹1,200 crore to improve connectivity between Howrah and Kolkata. ATP
