LG Sinha Pays Tribute to CRPF Jawans Killed in Udhampur Accident, Seeks Swift Relief for Injured

Udhampur, Aug 7 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed deep grief over the death of CRPF personnel in a tragic road accident that occurred in Basantgarh area of Udhampur district earlier today.

In a post on X, LG Sinha wrote, “Saddened by loss of CRPF personnel due to an accident near Udhampur. We will never forget their exemplary service to the nation. My thoughts are with bereaved families. Praying for speedy recovery of injured. Directed senior officials to ensure best possible care & assistance.”

As earlier reported by JKNS, two CRPF personnel lost their lives and 15 others sustained injuries after their vehicle fell into a deep gorge during movement in the hilly terrain of Basantgarh.

Following the incident, a massive rescue operation was launched by police, SDRF, and locals. The injured were shifted to nearby medical facilities, with some in critical condition.

Senior officials, on directions of the Lieutenant Governor, have rushed to the site to oversee relief and medical assistance. (JKNS)
