Pahalgam: The first batch of devotees of the Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025 Wednesday reached the Nunwan Base Camp here, where they received a rousing welcome from the administration.
The devotees were received by Rahul Yadav, Nodal Officer for Pahalgam Axis; Syeed Fakhruddin Hamid, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag; Amritpal Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police; Sundeep Singh Bali, Additional Deputy Commissioner; Atul Kumar Gupta, Camp Director Nunwan and other senior officers of the administration.
The devotees reached here in the afternoon and received colourful traditional welcome.
The administration has made comprehensive arrangements for the Yatris which include health care facilities, transportation, sanitation, drinking water facility etc. The devotees expressed satisfaction on the arrangements and were highly enthusiastic as they embarked on the spiritual journey to the Holy Cave.
Notably, the Amarnath Ji Yatra proceeds along the twin axis of Pahalgam and Baltal in Kashmir division with the Pahalgam axis being the longer of the two.
Along this axis the main points include Chandanwari, Pissu Top, Zojibal, Sheshnag, Mahagunas Top, Poshpatri and Panjtarni. Wednesday’s first batch of Yatris shall be flagged off from Nunwan Base Camp in the early hours of 3rd July.
